The other day I was sent a message by a young man who said he didn’t like what I stood for in life. This puzzled me for a few days. What exactly do I stand for that would make someone, not like me? I can’t say that it didn’t bother me because it did. But, I also had to look at the source of the statement. How much value do I put in this person’s interpretation of myself? It’s unfortunate that he feels this way. But, I am who I am and he or no one else is going to change that.
You see, my mom taught me the values that I have. Here are my values:
- You can do anything
- You are stronger than you think
- You are a blessing to this world
- You are capable of healing the world
- You are gifted with talents
- You are the head and not the tail
- You are on top and not the bottom
- You are a winner and not a loser
- You are the light of hope and not the darkness of fear
- You are love
- You are kindness
- You are made perfect
I hope this young cat gets the help that he needs. I really do. There is one thing I will not do in life and that is to be in fear of anyone. I don’t walk in fear.
