Episode 21 with Bassist Jay Jay Hicks

I first met this man almost 20 years ago. We only spoke a few words. I was his daughter’s basketball coach when she was in high school. Fast forward a few years and listening to him play bass at various events around Bakersfield, California and I quickly realized he is a super talented musician. In this episode, Jay Jay Hicks and I sit down and talk for the first time in a real conversation. We talk about where he grew up and when he learned to play music. We also talk about music and the various artist we enjoy. Also, we talk about his time in the National Guard and his views on Politics and Racism in America. It is a great conversation.
